My unevenly lit ReMOTE 25 MIDI control surface.

16 knobs, 48 buttons and 8 mini-sliders. Whoooo! I must know what lies inside...

This was a second-hand unit from eBay that looks like it had seen some rough treatment.

I've had it for a few years but got curious about what was inside, or if there was any damage underneath the hood.

The eBay seller I dealt with was awfully scatterbrained and after weeks of fighting to get this shipped, it wasn't in mint condition as had been advertised. Oh well, it was relatively cheap and it works!

Some of the small screws are recessed. Don't try to pry the unit open without first removing them like I did. :) Duh!

11 small silver screws and 6 large black screws to hold the keys in place.

The X/Y joystick and touchpad cables are reasonably strong while the keyboard cable is much thinner.

It's hard to grip and remove this cable properly (by the head of the cable and *only* by the head), but it's worth the trouble.

Empty. 75% of the weight in this unit are the keys themselves. ("Semi-weighted! Ohh! I get it now...")

I don't yet have the courage to disassemble the front panel knobs and PCB.
